This guide explains how SaaS agencies can customize the default account naming convention for new SaaS sub-accounts created via HighLevel funnel checkouts — and how to apply the same behavior for external checkouts. This ensures a more accurate, brand-consistent, and functional onboarding experience for your clients.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
- Step 1: Access the naming convention settings
- Step 2: How it works for HighLevel funnel checkouts
- Step 3: Set up for external checkouts
Step 1: Access the naming convention settings
- Navigate to your SaaS Configurator at the agency level.
- Go to Advanced Settings → Onboarding.
- In the Choose naming convention for new SaaS sub-accountssection, select your preferred default:
Use Company Name — Automatically sets the sub-account’s name to the company name entered during checkout.
Use Customer Name — Uses the customer’s name followed by "’s account" (current default behavior).
Step 2: How it works for HighLevel funnel checkouts
- When Use Company Name is selected, the system automatically picks the Company Name entered during the funnel checkout process and applies it as the sub-account name.
- If the company name is not entered, the system falls back to using the customer name.
Step 3: Set up for external checkouts
If you’re using external checkout flows (outside of HighLevel funnels) and still want to use the company name convention:
Ensure your checkout flow collects a Company Name from the customer.
When creating the subscription in Stripe or via API, pass the company name value in the subscription metadata using the key:
companyName
