You can design certificates and badges in Canva and bring them directly into your Credentials editor. This guide walks you through connecting your Canva account and importing your designs into the certificate or badge canvas.
Step 1: Open the Credentials editor
- Go to Membership > Credentials.
- Click Create, then choose either Certificate or Badge depending on what you want to design.
This opens the Credentials editor with a blank canvas.
Step 2: Open the Media Library
- In the left sidebar of the editor, click the Image option.
- Click Import from Media Library.
The Media Storage window will open, showing the files currently in your media library.
Step 3: Connect your Canva account
- In the top right of the Media Storage window, click Connect Canva.
- Follow the prompts to authorize the connection between Canva and your account.
You only need to do this once — your Canva account will stay connected for future imports.
Step 4: Browse your Canva projects
- Once connected, open the source dropdown on the left (it defaults to My Media).
- Select Canva from the list.
All of your Canva projects will appear in the Media Storage window.
Step 5: Import a project to your media library
- Find the Canva project you want to use.
- Click the three-dot menu on the project thumbnail.
- Select Import to media library.
The project will be copied into your media library so you can use it in the editor.
Step 6: Insert the design into your certificate or badge
- After importing, select the project from your media library.
- Click Insert media.
Your Canva design will be added to the certificate or badge canvas, where you can resize, reposition, or add other elements on top of it.
Tips
- Updates in Canva don’t sync automatically. If you edit the original design in Canva later, re-import it to pull in the changes.
- File format matters. Designs imported from Canva come in as images, so any text in them won’t be editable inside the Credentials editor — make any text edits in Canva before importing.
