Custom Values are key:value pairs that can be created once and reused throughout the platform.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
What Are Custom Values?
The Custom Value function is a Key and a Value that can be accessed anywhere in the platform. Instead of writing the same value over and over again in many places, you can write the Key everywhere. Then, if you change the one Value in the Custom Values list, the Key will be updated everywhere automatically.
How To Create Custom Values
Step 1: Navigate to Custom Values.
In the Subaccount, navigate to Settings > Custom Values.
Step 2: Create Custom Value.
Click the New Custom Value button in the upper right.
Step 3: Fill Fields.
Fill in all of the relevant fields:
- Name field. The Key part of the Custom Value will be created from the Name (ex: My Custom Value will be custom_values.my_custom_value).
- Value field.
- Folder field (optional)
How To Manage Custom Values
There are several management actions you can do with Custom Values once they are created.
Folders
Click on the Folders tab and then the Add New Custom Value Folder button. Folders with Custom Values in them will appear in the All Values list > Folder column. All folders will be listed in the Folders list.
Custom Values can only be in one Folder at a time. Folders cannot be nested inside other Folders.
Folder Menu
Click on the three dots menu at the right side of the Folder list item.
Rename Folder
Click Rename Folder. Fill in a new folder name.
Delete Folder
Click Delete Folder. You will see a modal asking for confirmation.
Search
At the top right of the All Values list is the search field. Type your search term inside and the list of Custom Values will filter down to only items that match the keyword.
Item Menu
Click the three dot menu to the left of the Custom Value to open the menu.
Item Move To Folder
Click Move To Folder. In the modal, select the target folder and click Move.
Item Edit Custom Value
Click Edit Custom Value. In the modal, you can fill in a new Name, new Value, and/or move it to a new folder. Remember that changing the Name will not change the Key.
Item Delete Custom Value
Click Delete Custom Value. A modal will appear asking for confirmation.
Bulk Actions
Click one or more checkboxes and the Bulk Actions button will appear. Click the button and a menu will appear, or click Unselect All.
Bulk Move To Folder
Click Move To Folder then select the target folder in the modal. After you move the selected Custom Values they will have the target folder listed in the Folder column.
Bulk Delete Custom Value
Click Delete Custom Value. You will get a modal asking if you're sure you want to delete the selected Custom Values.
