What Are GIFs in Emails?
GIFs are animated image files that can add movement and visual interest to your emails. In the Email Builder, GIFs can be inserted as images or used as custom thumbnails for Video elements.
GIF files used in the Email Builder can be selected from or uploaded to the Media Library.
How to Add GIFs to Emails
Using GIFs in the Design Editor lets you add animated visuals without changing your normal email-building workflow. You can insert a GIF directly through an Image element or use one as the thumbnail for a Video element.
Note: GIF uploads used in the Email Builder should not exceed 10 MB.Add a GIF as an Image
Go to Marketing > Emails.
Create a new email or open an existing email or template.

Open the email in the Editor.
From the Elements panel, drag an Image element into your email.
Click the Image element.
Click the edit/pencil icon for the image.
Select the option to upload or choose media from the Media Library.
Select an existing GIF or upload a new GIF.
Click Insert Media to add the GIF to your email.
Save your changes and preview the email before sending.

Use a GIF as a Video Thumbnail
From the Elements panel, drag a Video element into your email.
Click the Video element.
Locate the video thumbnail and click the edit/pencil icon.
Open the Media Library.
Select an existing GIF or upload a new GIF.
Click Insert Media to apply the GIF as the video thumbnail.
Save your changes and preview the email.
