How to Enable Consent Checkbox Calendars

Modified on: Wed, 12 Aug, 2026 at 10:16 AM

HighLevel calendars can display a consent checkbox that asks contacts to provide consent when booking a meeting. You can customize the consent message based on your business requirements and the type of information you collect during the booking process. When details such as phone numbers are collected, properly configured consent can also help support applicable messaging, calling, privacy, or telecom compliance requirements.

Important: HighLevel provides tools to help businesses collect and manage consent, but the appropriate consent language and legal requirements depend on your business and jurisdiction. Consult your legal counsel for compliance guidance.

What is the Calendar Consent Checkbox?

The calendar consent checkbox gives contacts an affirmative way to provide consent while completing an appointment booking. Businesses can customize the text displayed beside the checkbox so the disclosure matches their specific use case and requirements.

When enabled, the consent checkbox appears as part of the calendar booking experience. Contacts can review the consent message and select the checkbox before completing their appointment booking.

  • Consent during booking: Ask contacts to provide consent while they schedule a meeting.

  • Customizable disclosure: Edit the consent checkbox text to match your business requirements.

  • Recorded consent details: Review consent information associated with appointments after consent has been provided.

  • Compliance support: Use affirmative consent as part of your broader privacy, messaging, calling, or telecom compliance processes when applicable.

Consent records can help you verify what a contact agreed to when completing an appointment booking. HighLevel stores consent details associated with appointments where the contact selected the consent checkbox.

You can review captured consent in the following locations:

  • Appointment List: Open the menu for the applicable appointment and select View Consent.

  • Contact Activity: Open the contact record and review the appointment activity. Appointments where consent was provided display a consent indicator that can be opened to view additional details.

The stored consent information can include the consent text accepted by the contact and the contact's IP address at the time consent was provided.

Enabling the consent checkbox at the calendar level ensures contacts are presented with your consent request as part of that calendar's booking process. Review the consent language before publishing the change so it accurately reflects how your business intends to use the information being collected.

Note: Calendar settings are configured per calendar. If you want the same consent experience on multiple calendars, review and configure the setting for each applicable calendar individually. HighLevel similarly documents calendar form configuration as being managed per calendar.

  1. Log in to your HighLevel account.

  2. Go to Calendars from the left navigation menu.

  3. Click Calendar Settings.

  4. Find the calendar where you want to enable the consent checkbox.

  5. Click Edit Calendar for that calendar.

  6. Open Advanced Settings.

  7. Go to Form & Confirmation.

  8. Locate Consent Checkbox.

  9. Toggle on the option to ask contacts to provide consent when booking a meeting.

  10. Review and edit the consent message displayed with the checkbox as needed for your business requirements.

  11. Click Save Changes in the upper-right corner.

  12. The consent checkbox will now be included in the booking experience for that calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the calendar consent checkbox only for collecting phone numbers?
No. The checkbox is designed to request consent when a contact books a meeting. If your booking process also collects information such as a phone number, the consent you request may additionally support applicable requirements related to how that information is used.

Q: Can I customize the consent checkbox message?
Yes. HighLevel allows you to customize the consent checkbox text based on your specific requirements.

Q: Does enabling the checkbox automatically make my booking process compliant?
No. The checkbox provides a way to request and record consent, but applicable legal and compliance requirements depend on your business, use case, and jurisdiction. Consult your legal counsel for guidance.

Q: Can I add a clickable Privacy Policy or Terms link directly inside the consent checkbox text?
No. The calendar consent checkbox does not support HTML or clickable links. You can place a Privacy Policy or Terms link on the page where the calendar is embedded or use a custom form with a Terms & Conditions element when appropriate.

Q: Do I need to create a custom form to use the calendar consent checkbox?
No. The native calendar consent checkbox is configured within the calendar settings. Custom forms are available separately when you need to collect additional information during the booking process.

Q: Where can I review consent after an appointment is booked?
Consent can be reviewed from the applicable appointment using View Consent or from the appointment activity within the contact record.
