New A2P Status Tags on Phone Numbers
See where each phone number stands with A2P 10DLC registration, and what to do next.
What's New

Phone numbers used for texting in the US need to be registered with carriers under A2P 10DLC rules. Each number in your account now shows a tag that tells you exactly where its registration stands.

This article explains what each tag means and whether you need to take action.

1

Where to Find the A2P Tags

Go to Settings → Phone Numbers. The A2P tag appears next to each number and shows its current registration status.

  • A number has at most one A2P tag at a time.
  • The tag updates on its own as the status changes, so there is nothing to refresh.
Tip

If a number shows no tag at all, it isn't registered to any A2P campaign yet. See the No tag section below.

What Each Tag Means

Here is what each status means, whether the number can send texts, and what to do about it.

Tag 1
A2P Verified

The number is registered to an approved campaign and can send text messages.

You're All Set

No action needed.

Tag 2
A2P In Progress

The number has been added to a campaign and carriers are reviewing it. This usually completes within 24 hours, though it can take longer during periods of high carrier volume.

Note

You can't send texts from this number until the review completes. No action is needed on your part.

Tag 3
A2P Rejected

Carriers did not approve this number for texting. This typically happens when the number doesn't match the campaign's use case, or when the campaign itself has an issue.

Action Required

Contact support with the phone number and your campaign details so the team can review and resubmit it.

Tag 4
A2P Unlinking

You have removed this number from its campaign and carriers are processing the change. This usually completes within 24 hours. Once it finishes, the tag disappears and the number shows no A2P status.

Heads up

The number can't send texts during this period.

Tag 5
A2P Unlink Failed

Carriers could not complete the removal, so the number is still registered to its campaign and still able to send texts.

What to Do

Try unlinking again from the number's settings. If it fails a second time, contact support.

No Tag
No A2P tag shown

The number isn't registered to any A2P campaign.

Next Step

To send texts from this number, link it to an approved campaign from Trust Center.
