Need to update the content of an email campaign after creating it? HighLevel lets you edit both draft and scheduled campaign emails, but the editing process depends on the email's current status. Draft emails can be opened directly, while scheduled or ongoing emails use the Update Email Content action. Make scheduled changes well before the next send so there is enough time for the updated content to be processed.

What is Editing an Ongoing Email Campaign?
Editing campaign content allows you to update an email without creating a new campaign. The method you use depends on whether the email is still a draft or has already been scheduled.
Draft emails can be opened directly from the campaign list. For scheduled or ongoing emails, use Actions → Update Email Content to open the email editor and make changes.
Key Benefits of Editing Email Campaign Content
Updating an existing campaign gives you a straightforward way to correct or revise email content before it is sent.
Correct content before sending: Update copy, links, or other email content when changes are needed.
Edit drafts directly: Open a draft email from the campaign list and make your changes in the editor.
Update scheduled content: Use Update Email Content to modify an email after it has been scheduled.
Prerequisites and Limitations
The editing method depends on the status of the email. Scheduled content also requires additional timing considerations because processing may begin before the visible send time.
Draft emails can be clicked directly to open them for editing.
Scheduled or ongoing emails must be edited through Actions → Update Email Content.
Saving changes does not guarantee that the updated version will appear in the next outgoing email.
Timing and caching may affect changes made too close to the scheduled send.
Important: Make changes to scheduled email content well in advance of the scheduled send. If processing or caching has already started, the next outgoing email may use the previous version even after you click Save.
How To Edit Email Campaign Content
Start from the Email Campaigns area in your sub-account. The steps differ depending on whether the email is a draft or has already been scheduled.
Edit a Draft Email
Draft emails have not yet been scheduled, so you can open them directly from the campaign list.
From the Sub-Account view, select Marketing in the left menu.
Select Emails.
Select Campaigns.
Select Email Campaigns.
Locate the draft email you want to update.
Click the draft email to open it in the editor.

Make the required changes to the email content.
Click Save.

Edit a Scheduled or Ongoing Email
Once an email has been scheduled, use the campaign's action menu instead of opening the email directly.
From the Sub-Account view, select Marketing in the left menu.
Select Emails.
Select Campaigns.
Select Email Campaigns.
Locate the scheduled or ongoing email you want to update.
Open the email's Actions menu.
Select Update Email Content.

Make the required changes in the email editor.
Click Save.
Important: Saving an update does not guarantee that it will appear in the next outgoing email. Processing and caching may already be underway if the email is close to its scheduled send time. Make updates well in advance whenever possible.
Frequently Asked Questions

A: Yes. Locate the draft under Marketing → Emails → Campaigns → Email Campaigns, then click the draft email to open it in the editor.
Q: How do I edit an email that has already been scheduled?
A: Open the scheduled email's Actions menu and select Update Email Content. Make your changes in the editor, then click Save.

A: No. Timing and caching can affect an email that is already approaching its scheduled send. Make changes well in advance of the send time whenever possible.
