What is Tags Management?
Tags Management is where you manage all contact labels within HighLevel. Tags are short identifiers such as “VIP Customer” or “Newsletter Subscriber” that help segment contacts, trigger workflows, and build targeted campaigns. The enhanced interface offers better visibility and improved control over tag organization and automation management.
Key Benefits of Tags Management
Tags Management provides several usability and performance enhancements that improve how you organize and audit your contact data.
Improved layout: Clean, responsive interface that supports large tag lists with faster load times.
Timestamp visibility: New Created On and Updated On columns help monitor tag changes.
Quick search and pagination: Locate tags instantly with real-time filtering and page navigation.
Simplified management: Create, rename, and delete tags with one-click controls.
Data protection: Deleted tags can be restored within 60 days.
Automation transparency: Clear prompts explain that renaming tags will not automatically update existing workflows or filters.
Interface Overview
The updated interface consolidates all tag management functions—creation, search, pagination, and actions—into one table view. Each entry displays the tag name, creation date, last update, and action icons for editing or deletion.
Timestamp Visibility
Each tag now includes Created On and Updated On columns, allowing users to quickly review when tags were added or modified. This improves audit accuracy and data hygiene.
Enhanced Search and Pagination
The search bar filters tags instantly based on entered keywords. If no results are found, a “No Tags Found” message appears. Pagination allows smooth navigation through large tag lists without performance issues.

Deleted tags are removed from all contacts, workflows, and triggers but can be restored within 60 days.
Restoring Deleted Tags
Deleted tags can be restored within 60 days through Settings → Audit Logs. When restored, both the original Created On and Updated On timestamps remain intact.
How to Set Up and Manage Tags
You can manage all contact tags from Settings → Tags. Review your list regularly to remove duplicates, outdated tags, or unused entries. Use the timestamps to identify when a tag was created or last updated, and the search bar to check whether a tag already exists before adding a new one. Tags can be renamed or deleted directly using the action icons, and any deleted tag can be restored within 60 days through Audit Logs.
